MAR 2024 UPDATE


Heya folks!

We're back again this month with another update, mostly to clean up after ourselves from the last one. Ironically, we figured out what was REALLY causing crashes soon after the last one - but decided to take our time and do it properly alongside some content updates. No use crying over spilled milk, after all. Ha, get it? Cats like milk. That's something, right?

Anyway, we're super super proud to announce that Meowmentum is officially CRASH-FREE! If this doesn't jinx it, I don't know what will. I pray this doesn't jinx it. Anyway:

Changes:

  • Added custom UI assets for the 'Ready, Set, Go!' to replace red text (in the same font as the title now)
  • Improved tutorial popups with a little sprite animation + SFX
  • Improved analytics and authentication
  • Added magic orb to the portal at the end of each level
  • Improved scene lighting/post-processing

Fixes:

  • Fixed visual bug where orbs wouldn't scale back appropriately to their untargeted states upon restarting a level
  • N O M O R E C R A S H E S

Our decision to add the orbs to the end of each level was to reinforce the importance of cutting corners - every microsecond shaved off is one step closer to a new best time! Plus, it adds replayability and introduces a core mechanic from the very first level which is nice. 

This idea came up very, very early on in production but was forgotten to the winds. Having tested it this time around, we agreed that it felt good and so hopefully you do too.Anyway, that's all for this update! Thanks for reading :)
